Junior High Mission Trip 2009 The Junior High youth traveled to Richmond, Virginia, August 5th through the 7th to do mission work in several locations. We started out by painting a Christian education room in St. Peter's Episcopal Church. St. Peter's is a small African American congregation that has been worshipping in the impoverished East End of Richmond for a long time. Across the street from the church is the Peter and Paul Development Center -- a building owned and operated by the Diocese of Virginia. The center provides after school enrichment as well as a summer program for children living in and around the neighborhood. While at the center, our group got to know the other youth, helped make Communion bread for the church services that week, played games and helped run a small store for the other children.
